PLAZA ESPAÑA (MAP) Its the place where trains leave and arrive, where the subway leads to the university Uib, where busses leave and arrive, a gateway to the airport. In a way Plaza España gives Palma the feel of Capital of Mallorca. There are some high buildings, traditional cafeterias such as Bar Cristal, Tapas as well as fast food. The squre is a meeting point for young and old, a place to enjoy real traditional España feeling. Whenever I visit Plaza España I can´t loose the feeling of beeing in a Capital city, with rush hour and noise, the noise and rattle of a big city. Plaza España is also the entry to the Old Town of Palma, where modern urban districts meet traditional arquitecture. And of course, in Plaza España there is a statue, the statue of Jaime I de Aragón, the reconquerer of Mallorca.
